Plant-based materials like apple, cactus, pineapple or grape leather are inherently robust – but like any good leather, they reward regular care. With the right routine, your Kara riding boots and Nafilia halters stay supple, water-repellent and looking new for years.
Why care for it at all?
Even vegan leather loses suppleness over time without care, and can dry out or crack – especially with frequent exposure to moisture, sun or friction. Regular care preserves not just the look, but also the water repellency and longevity of the material.
How to care for it with Nafilia Leather Balm
- Lightly dampen the leather, or apply directly to dry leather
- Apply a thin layer with a soft cloth or your hand
- Massage in and let it absorb briefly
- Buff with a clean cloth if needed
Our Leather Balm is a pure natural product made from plant-based waxes and resins, finished with lemongrass oil – completely free of beeswax, animal fats, alcohol or synthetic additives. One 100 g tin lasts for roughly 50 applications.
How often should you apply it?
As a rule of thumb: every 4–6 weeks with regular use. If you’re out in the rain a lot, or use your halter daily at the stable, a bit more often won’t hurt.
Works with every Nafilia material
- Riding Boots Kara – apple leather
- Halter Dorea – pineapple leather
- Halter Nayeli – cactus leather
- Halter Zoi & Halter Alija – grape leather
And it works just as well on high-quality genuine leather – saddles or bridles, for example.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the balm on genuine leather too?
Yes. The leather balm works equally well on smooth, natural and plant-based leather.
What if my leather is already dried out?
In that case, apply the balm a bit more generously at first and repeat after one to two weeks – dried-out leather usually needs a few rounds to become supple again.
Can I use the balm on my skin?
Yes – it’s dermatologically tested and can also be used as a hand, foot or skin cream.
